I read this delightful book in one sitting because once you get started you just don't want to put it down. The main character, Marge, is a woman of a certain age who has not given up on sex, love or any part of life. She's looking for a relationship and she's using all modern technology to find the man of her dreams, or, at least, not the man of her nightmares. Marge is into good food, good sex, good art and good manners. You'd be surprised how hard it is for a woman to find someone who shares her passions, especially an accomplished woman in her 'golden' years. I picked up this book and could not put it down until I finished it in one sitting. It is very humorous and clever and I love the "voice" of the narrator.
I absolutely was enthralled reading this book, didn't mean to read in 1 sitting, but couldn't put it down!! I really appreciate Suzie Walker's creative, down to earth, way of writing, kept forgetting this was fiction! LLooking forward to more stories from her!
A delightful read about the escapades of a grandmother who decides to delve into the prospects of sexual companionship via Internet dating services, after several years of inactivity The results can be described as the good, the bad, and the ugly. And the funny, often hysterical. Written with honesty, the personality of Marge seeps through as individual encounters are described in great detail. Well written this book is a jewel for the "older" set.
Suzie still is going strong! Well, actually, she writes as though she herself had all of these steamy experiences. However, she has compiled the stories of others into one exciting character. It's a most unusual book, and each short, sock-it-to-me narrative had me unable to set the book down without reading the next story . . . and the next . . . and the next! I knew the author when we were children, and I know that she has led a full, optimistic, happy life. As for the intimate side of that life, well, that's her secret! However, her book has left me thinking, "I ain't dead yet!" - and I'm 79!
Sex and the Senile is a funny book with a message of hope in addition to the humor. Marge Avery is not ready to give up living just because she is in her 70s. Her adventures will have you laughing right away. She just might remind you of your best friend - or a close relative. I am on my third reading, and find a new favorite character each time as well as a couple of unfavorites. I have given the book to several of my single friends and put a couple of other copies aside for special birthday gifts.
This book is hysterical. Real enough you'll think she may be your own mother/grandmother, but then that's TMI.
Suzie Walker gives us an eye opening, no-holds-barred glimpse into the life and times of Marge Avery, a divorced senior who is into online dating in a big way . Marge is an irrepressible, witty,art collector and foodie. Her experiences with the guys she meets range from heartwarming to heartbreaking, but Marge keeps a positive attitude through it all.....an entertaining read.
